Skala Babosa Hair Treatment Cream 1000g is an intensively hydrating 2-in-1 hair cream specially developed for curly and super-curly hair types 2A through 4C. In Brazil, aloe vera is commonly called “babosa,” and this classic conditioning ingredient forms the foundation of the formula for dry, unruly and difficult-to-manage curls.
The formula is infused with aloe vera, shea butter and D-panthenol. Aloe vera supports hydration and helps curls appear soft and shiny. Shea butter provides rich conditioning care for dry lengths, while D-panthenol helps condition the strands and maintain flexibility.
Skala identifies deep hydration and nourishment as key benefits, alongside support for strengthening and repairing the hair. Within Skala’s Hair Care Schedule, Babosa belongs to the Hydration stage.
The multifunctional cream can be used as a deep conditioning treatment, leave-in conditioner and co-wash. Skala also provides directions for use as a pre-shampoo treatment, allowing one large tub to perform several functions within a curly-hair routine.
According to Skala, the formula is free from sulfates, parabens, petrolatum, silicones and mineral oil.
As a conditioning treatment:
Apply to washed hair and massage throughout the lengths, avoiding the roots. Leave on for approximately 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly. For more intensive conditioning, use a heat cap and leave the treatment on for approximately 15 minutes before rinsing.
As a leave-in conditioner:
Divide damp hair into sections and apply a small amount through the lengths. Avoid the roots, distribute evenly, do not rinse and style as desired.
As a co-wash:
Apply a small amount to wet hair and distribute over the scalp. Gently massage with the fingertips as you would with a conventional shampoo and rinse thoroughly. Repeat only when additional cleansing is needed.
As a pre-shampoo treatment:
Divide dry, unwashed hair into sections and apply the cream. Leave on for approximately 15 minutes, rinse and continue with shampoo and conditioner.
